Please help us by picking up your race number and timing chip on Wednesday evening. It's quick and easy with parking right outside the field house door!
Race Day Thursday, THANKSGIVING DAY, - starting at 8:00 am. If you cannot pick up your race number until the morning of the race, we recommend that you leave ample time to park and get to the field house at least 60 minutes prior to the start time of your race.
DON'T FORGET TO BRING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD TO THE RACE FOR THE TURKEY TROT FOOD DRIVE.
Runners who pre-registered for the 5 Mile Run can pick up their race number and timing chip at the Pre-registration table.
Runners who pre-registered for the 1.4 Mile Fun Run can pick up their race number at the Fun Run pre-registration Table.
Runners who pre-registered for the Challenger Run can pick up their race number at the Challenger pre-registration Table.
All runners pick up their tee shirts at the T-shirt table.
Yes - but it's a hassle for you and a hassle for us and very limited. Register online up until 9 p.m. EST on the Tuesday prior to the race it's quick and easy and saves you time and money.
On race day, late in-person registration is also possible but it is limited and ends at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's School field house -- late registration fees apply.
Is the race held rain or shine?
Yes - we run in the snow too. Weather forecasters always change their forecasts and are often wrong!
Is there any place where we can store our belongings during the race?
Sorry, there is no secure baggage check. There is a huge indoor field house open before and after the race but of course you should not leave any valuables unattended.

What is the Challenger Division?
Several years ago the Turkey Trot Committee established the Challenger Division Race. These competitors, who are physically challenged, wanted to run on a special course so that they too could help raise money for charity. The Race Committee welcomes their spirit and contributions.

Will I have fun if I run this race and feel much better about stuffing myself with turkey and pumpkin pie later in the day?
Yes - in fact, you can eat twice as much guilt free - be sure to ask for extra whipped cream on your desserts!
Parking is available at nearby locations including the Garden City High School, Garden City Train Station, Garden City Library and other neighboring locations. There is no parking at St. Paul's School.

Yes. Walkers are welcome in Fun Run & 5 Mile Race. Many walk and have a great time.
Yes. Strollers are allowed in both the Fun Run & 5 Mile Race.
What is the Patrick Ryan Award?
The Patrick Ryan Award is given to the first runner from Garden City to finish the 5 Mile Race. The award is in honor of Patrick Ryan, who was killed tragically in 1992 in a car accident while volunteering at the Garden City Turkey Trot. Patrick was in the class of 1993 at Garden City High School and was volunteering on race day when he was killed.
